The Prince and the Doe
Severus apparated at once. The darkness squeezed upon him as he travelled, but the feeling did not leave him when he arrived in Godric's Hollow. The freezing air burnt his face and hands. He lifted his gaze to her house. Half of it had been blown away. Rubble was scattered over the snow, still smoking in places.
Severus choked and raced forward, not wanting to believe his eyes. People were beginning to approach the house. He had to see her, to make sure she was alright.
The Dark Lord said he would spare her ... he had begged for her life ...

I was born into this world with green eyes
I hid them with contact lenses and lies
I am made to feel as if I need a disguise
Return to old phobias; reprise.
Why should I be ashamed of eyes of green?
Why do people look upon me as unclean?
If you could only dream the things I have seen
Through my mask of ever-Halloween.
We group together, emerald and strong
Ignoring the malignant words that are wrong
Yet convulsing together, shivering as one
My discretion and fickle pride have both gone.
I wish everyday that I could be you
Noble eyes of brown, hazel or blue
Society smiles. Here, have a ring too
I wish that your effigy were for on
Hospital Flowers
Listening to the moans and the weeping
I'm lying in a bed but I'm far from sleeping
Surrounded by friends who've waited for hours
Just to give me their love, with hospital flowers.
Bare white walls that trap me inside
I wonder who listened, who heard her cry
Standing up strong, standing just like towers
With trembling fingers holding hospital flowers.
Find me a doctor to let me go
Sick of this drama, sick of this show
Help all the sick and ignore all the cowards
Bring me your smile, with hospital flowers.
